BACKUP:

A complete backup was done this
afternoon.

45: OPS , Site none, Thu 06-Feb-1992 15:25:21 GMT, DATA FILES LOST:
DATA FILES LOST:

	An error in the auto_archive
routine destroyed the raw data files
for JD36 12Z-24Z and JD37 0Z-12Z.
The error was due to the script trying
to execute another script, tape_store,
from the wrong directory.
The covar files still exist for this
time period.

47: OPS , Site none, Thu 06-Feb-1992 22:01:17 GMT, CHANGES TO LOGIN PATH:
CHANGES TO LOGIN PATH:

/usr/etc was added to PATH in
.login inorder for ping to work. I also
find that a program named "show" exists
in a link to a path before "/home/aster/sun4".
Because of this, ashow will not work.
I'll call Charlie to see if he wants to
rename our "show".

48: OPS , Site none, Thu 06-Feb-1992 22:03:14 GMT, PINOT:
PINOT:

	PINOT arrived today. We
got it up and running. However, the
guest logins are not working correctly.
Gordon has been notified.

53: OPS , Site none, Fri 07-Feb-1992 16:02:34 GMT, COVAR FILES:
COVAR FILES:

The covar files have been trimmed.
While trying to restart the covars, an error
message appeared for covar_marigold. An attempt
was made to covar data, the KD sonic, not coming
in on marigold. The script was corrected and covar
restarted. About 10 minutes of covar data were lost
from 15:45 to 15:55 GMT.

61: OPS , Site none, Sat 08-Feb-1992 23:48:34 GMT, OPS2:
OPS2:

With the addition of a comparison
psychrometer and a EGG dew point unit, it was decided
to define a second operations configuration.
It will be started at 00:00 GMT, JD039.

73: OPS , Site none, Tue 11-Feb-1992 14:21:31 GMT, DISK FULL THIS MORNING
DISK FULL THIS MORNING

The disk was at 100% when we arrived this morning at 1400.
It appears that the disk filled up at 1300, so we lost
about an hour of data this morning. We will initiate the
automatic bkfiles_kill in the chrontab back-up procedure.

76: OPS , Site none, Tue 11-Feb-1992 19:04:27 GMT, prop0421600
prop0421600

This archive file may have a small gap in it because
I moved it to backup/prop (when I intended to just
copy it!) for a minute and then moved it back.

79: OPS , Site none, Tue 11-Feb-1992 23:13:58 GMT, AUTO BKFILES_KILL
AUTO BKFILES_KILL

Copied bkfiles_kill to bkfiles_kill_auto and
converted it to unattended operation a la
auto_archive. Tested it and it appears to
work okay. Added bkfiles_kill_auto to the
crontab for 40 minutes after auto_archive.
I will try to arrive early tomorrow to
monitor its operation.

115: OPS , Site none, Thu 20-Feb-1992 18:50:35 GMT, covars restarted
new version of covar built and
installed to include the sound_vt_1 calib
function. All covars restarted.
